Time For Christmas

Christmas isn’t what it used to be
Don’t give me gadgets
That are supposed to uncomplicate my life

If I need to read an instruction manual
I don’t need it

The only thing I really want
Is the gift of time
Of your time

I’ve started a new tradition
I stash under the tree
Gifts from years gone by
Unwrapped there for me to rediscover

Hoping this will be the year
I’ll finally get the time to actually enjoy them
Or better yet ~ become my resolution
If they’re still there on New Year’s Day
