Time For Change

I am Barrack Obama
I was born from a generation of great Kings and Queens
I bring change.

I am a husband , a father
The first black African American president
I am peace
I am hope for the lost and forgotten.

I am a leader who believes in humanity
I believe in progress, prosperity and unity
I see no color
I know no war.

I hear the cries of millions
I feel the pain of thousands
Even though I sit among the mightiest of men
I am humble
I am patient
I have faith.

I believe in mankind
I believe that nations uniting as one body is the beginning of a new generation.

I'm a Brit who has lived in the US since 1972... for the first time I feel a sense of hope with the new Obama adminstration. At last, an educated, intelligent man who follows the people's agenda and not his own... Well done! and best wishes, Keith

Patricia, you describe well all of the wonderful characteristics that compelled me to support Obama in the primary and the general election. He is undertaking a great challenge to lead our nation out of economic decline. Excellent poem! Love, Carolyn

I love the centrality of the "I" and the virtuostic effect. Peace and love
