Time Does Not Stand Still

Yesterday is remembered
And tomorrow we have not seen 
Uncertainty and memories
Surround us in today.

The cycle never changes
And time does not stand still --
Remembrances from yesterday --
And tomorrow, not yet known.

Designs of life surround us
As we live inside today --
Looking back at yesterday --
And, ahead, to – uncertainty.

Yesterday is history --
Tomorrow, who can say?
Today is certain, to a point --
And time does not stand still.

Thank you, Drake .I wrote "Time Goes Marching On" some time ago. It's a better poem in rhyme form. This contest called for free verse only so I moved words around a bit and this is the result. I believe the other poem is better..... Jake

John, I am not a fan of "free-verse" poetry, but you may yet change my mind. Free-verse usually does not resonate with me, but this is a great piece. Very concise, precise. Kudos to you and thank you for this cool read :)
