Time and Muse

They said that I was, ‘quite insane‘
searching for you in forest’s dark.
With moon half full and pouring rain
I left seeking your flowing heart.

I sought you towards light of dawn
following paths of broken growth.
I thought I heard our concealing song
When your form I saw, and did approach.

Morning it seems is just ahead
as I lay, staring, unable to move.
My inks, but senseless drops in pools of red
this night of loss, both time and muse.
