Time and Faces
She existed maybe
A dozen times
This girl I let
Fill my mind
Maybe a year
Or a summer time
My dreams and wishes
Made her mine
She was special
And always was
She had a look
That something does
And l would follow her
With my eyes
Her braided hair and
Perfect lines
Those small details
That beauty defines
A ribbon, a waist
Or a voice divine
I wished to tell her
A million times
And came so close
So many trys
How many knew
This secret mine
They didn't tell
And nor did time
My hated obsession
Always defeated by shy
Ever present this
Fear of mine
It still exist
Even though I find
No other obsessions
That I'd call mine
Only once
Was I given mine
And all the rest
I give to time
I've been in love
So many times
But none ever equaled
That romantic bind
There is nothing like
What's mine is mine
No satisfaction greater
Than love that equals mine
The trust and devotion
That fills the eyes
Joy and tears
Between two lives
Sacrifice that baffles
The wise
That special bond
Between husband and wife
I pretend this with her
Who catches my eye
So many days
And so many lives
