Time

as the days drag on
time, time passes along
we shall stand in a field
holding all our strength, all our will
snow falls, falls on my face
i look up and you are gone, with out a trace
i run and run through woods asking where you went
but as time passes along i may never know what you really meant
our love breaks down after years, even decades
my memory of you that was once so vivid, fades
i have asked for this day to come
where time has made me absolutley numb
but as we lay here on the ground
we've passed time to meet what we have found
as you get up to walk away
i must not bother to stay
for what we have been
has left us not wanting to grin
we say our goodbyes for eternity
we say our goodbyes to what ever made time you and me.

Hi Autumn unfortunately time does a way of changing things and it is a rude awakening because we realize in our own minds that nothing will ever be the same and there is no return once the deed is done.Thank you for sharing,Dean
