Till Last Magnolia Blooms

Coffee bean scent still fills the air with each new sunrise in our log cabin My arms around me embrace the winds of Winter gone Every sky-night windowpanes glow in silent mist Lunar limbs stream through bedroom blinds reflecting shadows on empty sheets< Star clusters shine 'bove velvet shores sand-wish away from our bare toes Another year, another month, another thought I can't freeze time or make a clone First magnolia blooms on a bare branch Buzzing bees extract nectar from moist corolla Coloured wings flutter on melting icicles Sunbirds return with a sweet song But what is a song without a symphony What is music with no slow dance His hand-pressed petal still mark the chapter between stained pages The dusty shelves recall my mind recall my heart, recall my soul For the last time these eyes would linger before leaves curl, before buds wither before moons move on,and I let go.

aww just read what you said below, nothing to be afraid of when you can write like this! and always remember it is just one person's/judge's opinion/preference...if I were judging I would be looking at a top placement for this, for sure...so poignant, so beautiful...:)

Very mysterious verse! It feels either like more than one poem OR that it's unfinished. Perhaps look at it starting with lines 5 & 6 that would give the reader the topic right off, then add lines 1-4 which is exquisite with imagery and sensation! The next verse starts with him too which is GREAT [what is sandwish?]

Hi Deborah..tnks for your input..I took your advice and swapped verses..Re sand -wish...For me its a wish made on the sand..but wishes on the sand are ephimeral wishes indeed .Re contest..Nah this isnt good enough sweety but tnks .hugs

YES just moving though 2 lines up gives the verse cohesion! Excellent contest entry for either Leaving on a Jet Plane or I would do anything for love. [Use your periods, only use double space between verse] Light & Love
