Till I Reach a Better Day
Each day is like the rest
I miss Yesterday, look forward to today, I cannot wait for tomorrow
All I see through the windows are men and women working behind counters
Each street corner filled with a sad faces looking for a dollar for his supper
Tall buildings above with the rich cast a long shadow over me
Unseen devils walking next to us
Like me, melancholy wakes and roams around the world
A tour across the world and back in 24 hours
The loud hooting horns across the street to an innocent pedestrian
A new life is born as some retire to the afterlife
Around me, within me and above me
I will keep the light before me
Till I reach a better day
My feet will never grow restless
Do not look for me in my home
These eyes will not be pleased
Endless is the mission
To change the lives our brother and sister
Knock down the door of heaven and share its splendour
Till I reach a better day my friend
No greater peace will I know
