Tightropes of the Three Graces

"Tightropes of the Three Graces"

Tightropes
for hanging clothes
on a line

each piece
pegged wooden
held between closed fences

misfortune's breeze lifts
sleeves like covers
pointing the way home

books and their pages
for The Davenport dancers
all's well that ends well

scene perfect
imperfect fortunes
throughout their ages

the balancing act
seeking Life’s rhyme
saving fates in stages

odd numbers
are never easy,
never graceful

the balancing acts,

tightropes
of the Graces
saving fates in 3 stages

Re real: that's me, not good with the hair and the eyes and the joints, but pretty much real. Elizabeth

...underneath it all, we're all real. some more than others. even the ones, in the hugh hefner cotton tails. It's a balancing act all around. In moments of quiet reflection, I think perhaps, with age and experience, arrives grace. Eventually, no matter the circumstances in life, and the final outcome, this is the moment we all reach at the cross roads, perhaps, that sense of grace. Leanne. :) xx

Unstoppable. "Unstoppable they called her, but I saw her stop, I saw her stop many times. Sometimes I thought she had stopped for good. But no, she always found a way to resurrect. To rise again. Not the same, never the same. Each time a little more determined and a little less vulnerable. Unstoppable they said, but I think it was in the stopping, that she found her power." Donna Ashworth.

"You become. It takes a long time. That’s why it doesn’t happen often to people who break easily, or have sharp edges, or who have to be carefully kept. Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose in your joints and very shabby. But these things don’t matter at all, because once you are Real you can’t be ugly, except to people who don’t understand." Margery Williams -The Velveteen Rabbit, 1923.
