Ties

two children chest-tight
these ties to her life severed
in no man’s land
fruit plucked from family tree
overdose of suffering

As if... as if there is not enough suffering in the world already. Thanks for bringing it home with this poignant 'case in point,' Kim. A blessed Sunday to you, Gershon

I can feel the pain of loss in this one. I know that some women and men as well went through some suffering when this country was first being settled. Thanks for sharing this one with us and for dropping by my page. Sara K

Captivity brings suffering, especially when no mans land becomes her land and the fruit of the family tree is severed. from her life. Sad, Beautiful truthful write. Hugs and blessings, Jennifer.

Deep and sad poem. So sad to see people who die, although I have often wished for death.
