Tidal Waves

In our darkest nights and our brightest days, emotions fill us like tidal waves. They can drag us down and pull us in, trying to drown us from within. They can raise us up or let us down, but if you don't know how to swim, you'll simply drown. There are storms across my seven seas, lightning strikes, sharks circling me. My legs are tired, my chest is tight. I'm not sure how much longer I can fight. I gasp for air, I scream and shout, But these tidal waves drown me out

Talent flows from your pen. Love the lines in each couplet. Never give up the fight.

Your poem is very expressive, Daisy. I know your tidal waves are metaphorical, but I experienced the real thing, nearly drowning in very rough seas; I never gave up and somehow I made it back to shore. Life can be hard, painful and tiring, but we must not let it beat us. Be strong, and when the going gets too hard don't refrain from seeking help. Take care. // paul
