Tidal Flow

Pinks and blues, summer hues Walking on the shore I etch her name into the sand The tide flows in to pour Eraser fluid over it It thinks that it's so smart It thinks because her name is gone She's no longer in my heart Foolish tide, recede again Now try to find her name You've defeated your own purposes The ocean's staked its claim Her name now drifts invisibly Washed into the sea But if you listen to a shell You'll hear her calling me
