Thunder

Thunder
    Terrified dogs
Howl, yelp and whine
     Cowering under tables and chairs
Skulking in the far corners
     Crouching down
Shaking with fear
     Trying to escape
From the deafening peals of thunder,
     And we humans
Proud, arrogant creatures
Strutting across the face of the earth
Feel more than a little humbled,
     When the heavens roar.

Love it my friend. It makes me laugh when here in Liverpool we have thunderstorms and people go on about it. Because i grew up in Florida South Africa and have seen lightning turn night into day with claps of thunder so lound they made the windows buckle I absolutely love it's on a par with watching fire or waves crashing on a beach

I like this, although I have a cat to comfort every time the thunder howls, I know that it must. well done.

This makes me think of my dog who heard a cannon once and ever since, is afraid of thunder and shakes in fear. Well done! :)

So true! Nicely written as thunder invokes fear from both man and beast..enjoyed! :)
