Through These Eyes
Through these eyes
I saw the world fall apart
Man against man
Brutal attacks
Innocence lost
Through these eyes
I saw hatred peer its ugly head
Trust be cast to the wind
Never to return
No looking back
Through these eyes
I see the sun shine
It is a new day
New shadows cast
There is indeed hope
Through these eyes
My heart is changed to believe
That there is hope, love
Words can be read
And new emotions felt
Through these eyes
With each newly read poem
I witness the passing of evil
And the rebirth of good
Of man, for ever
