I hope this poem provides some comfort and encouragement to anyone facing difficult times and reminds you of the light you carry within. Inspired by Susan Brumel's comment on "Deepest Darkest Depression" on poetry.com in a different metaphor.

Listen to poem:
In the tempest of your heart’s deep ache, When sorrow’s waves crash and break, Stand like a lighthouse, steadfast and true— Let your smile be the beam that cuts through. Though clouds may gather, dark and dense, Your light can pierce the storm’s offense. For every night gives way to dawn, And pain, like mist, will soon be gone. So smile, though your heart may weep, For joy, like the sun, will rise from the deep.
