Through the Heart

People are starting to notice my vacant stare, I physically am standing in the flesh but my heart isn't there. They just think it is my normal demeanor and mood, Let them think me rude! For lately its just a time for my heart to dwell on you, It is my time my moment to repair the cracks of my soul with my super glue. It is my time to have you all to myself, For me it is like suddenly amassing a great wealth. I want to have you all alone, My secret treasure; mine to own. I secreted you away in my soul, Just in case Satan begins to troll. I'll keep you safe and content you see, As long as your memory lives within me. Please, let me keep the memories a little while, At least until I don't need them just to smile. For a few moments come and snuggle with me again, Make my heart pound and my head spin. Let me have a few more seconds with your eyes, Let me have your charm as dark as winter night skies. Let me steal you away one more time, Let our tears wash away our grime. Let me have this beautiful dream, While I silently scream. Let me meet you under a blanket of stars, Where we will heal each other's scars. Even if for now it has to happen in the deepest dark, I'll never lose you...because we are connected through the heart.
