Through the Fire

You may have to go it alone
Bear the heat and discomfort on your own

It can be devastating and suffocating
No fresh air to breathe, only heat and smoke which are debilitating

But peace and clarity you'll find
If you push through and do not resign

The burns and wounds may be severe
But will you keep going? Can you persevere?

Despite all the cumulus smoke
If you can keep peering and not choke

If you can still aspire...
Amid the sweltering heat from the fire

If you can keep moving through it
There is a beautiful place for you if you just don't quit
