Through the Eyes of Love
Through the Eyes of Love
I see you in your morning prayer -
Look as you raise your hands in praise;
Overhear your voices sing to God
Ev’ry hour of the day;
Watch you hold a dying hand
Feed the hungry and the poor
Then witness you visit prisoners
Welcome strangers at your door.
In the silence of the night
You lift up heartfelt prayers;
You clothe the homeless wanderers
Shoeless and threadbare;
Give a cup of water
To the sick and thirsting souls
Then carry a companion’s cross
Clear eyesight - their pain enfold.
Mindful as you teach the children
The all seeing love of God;
And, in the face of blindness
You make choices to choose love;
The visions of these miracles
Fills my sight with awe -
How could my heart not feel gratitude
For this love without a flaw?
I thank my God
For the gift to see with eyes of love
All the blessings your hands create
Reflections of our God above;
A servant’s heart on display
Profound revealed in simplicity
Priceless gifts to frail humanity
Wrapped in your humility
