Through the Eyes of Bethany
I wish my dear aunt had lived long enough
To see the fine lady I have become
She took her life; life must have been tough
The pain was too great; her feelings were numb
I wish my dear aunt had lived long enough
To sing me songs and teach me how to pray
She took her life; life must have been rough
I wish I could see her come home each day
I wish my dear aunt had me in her mind
Before she took her life so tragically
Couldn’t she wait for life to be more kind?
Why didn’t she cling to God’s mercy?
I wish my dear aunt knew the pain I feel
I still peer through the glass door every day
Hoping to see her; the grief does not heal
I miss her loving smile in every way
