Through the Eyes
Grief through the eyes of my son,
Bring sorrow to my eyes,
Witnessing the pain,
The daily heartbreak,
The longing for his mom,
Hugs with laughter no more.
I see his tears fall like rain,
As he speaks her name in vain,
His heart aches with every breath,
For the love that he knows is now death.
I wish I could take his pain away,
And bring back the joy of yesterday,
When his world was bright and full of light,
And his mother's love was his guiding sight.
But now he wanders lost and alone,
His heart heavy like a stone,
And though I try to ease his pain,
I know it will never be the same.
For grief is a burden that we must bear,
And though it may seem unfair,
We hold on to the love we once knew,
And pray that it will guide us through.
