Three Wishes

If I had three wishes 
What would they be?
Hmm, maybe world peace
Nope I've only got three

Hmm, the first thing I'd wish
Is to win first place
And not to get beaten down
With egg on my face

My second wish, hmm
Now let me think
Give me a minute
I'm right on the brink

The second thing I'd wish
Is to be in the top ten
I'm just covering my bases
In case I don't win

Hmm, this third wish
I'll not wish in haste
For I've already wished two
With just one more to waste

Hmm, I've got it!
A wish I hold dear
I wish that my mother-in-law
Would finally disappear
