Three Loves: Part 1
Firstly I had an onesided love with a man
Who turned out to never have had a plan.
He played guitar, he always loved music,
But he never cared for my heart so lovesick.
This man once first loved me with a passion
Until he reverted back to his strict religion.
He expected me to change myself for him,
But I am a woman who follows every whim.
I loved him despite being held arm's length,
Because I bear understanding and strength.
Even though we were nice, I was not enough.
He never saw me as a diamond in the rough.
Rather than try to appease this hypocrite,
I decided one day to just let him have it:
The truth of how he made me feel conflicted
In my own mind over all things he defended.
