Thoughts Captive

The noise of silence can be deafening
            Alone in a room, yet the silent voices speak at high volume
                    The first reminds of past failures
                           While the next celebrates your accomplishments
                                  There’s one that makes you second guess decisions
                                            Yet another gives you confidence in wisdom used
                                                   Taking your thoughts captive;
                                                    a necessary step to sanity
                                             A negative choice makes for a lesson learned
                                   A positive move leads to building on to the next
                            How you manage the choices you've made
                     Leads to the type of 'noise' you experience
               Good and Bad
       Turn up the volume on those that uplift
Quiet the silent noise leading to despair

Turn up the volume on those that uplift. That is the best advice I ever did hear dear poet. Thank you for sharing such a lovely poem this evening,
