Thoughts By a Horse Owner

Thoughts by a Horse Owner A farmer milks a cow for all it’s worth …but a horse milks a farmer for all he’s worth! Horses are an expensive proposition to say the least. Try lavishing your love on another beast. When you look upon a star and make a wish, much cheaper to buy a little goldfish. then if you can’t afford it when your dream comes true, just flush it down the loo. Or if you’re into recycling, eat the little guy… And for crying out loud, quit wishing towards the sky! Answer to Doris Culverhouse’s invite for a silly poem. There you go Doris! : ) ...(but I mean it!)

But Robert, a horse becomes part of you, at least mine did. They satisfy the need for freedom, the need to fly and can become so close when loved. Amazing creatures I'd say and worth every cent.

LOL This is a riot, Rob, and I know you have a lot of experience dealing with horses. Don't think I'd eat the goldfish (especially since it was a pet), but it doesn't cost much to raise chickens and they're delicious! Very much enjoyed your "silly poem." Can't wait to see how Doris responds. Love, Carolyn

Yep horses are expensive... in the 1960s workers sometimes had their own racehorse and took him to race meetings...back bout 1900 they would put the horse in a sulky and trot off to the races..horse got some stamina pulling 2 fools in a sulky 50 miles ...Kangaroo dogs did too trotting all day behind the bosses horse, wining type greyhounds:)

Although horse ownership may be quite an expensive proposition, surely there must be some justifications...so many of them are such magnificent animals, and they have served mankind so well through the centuries. A funny and affectionate piece.
