Thoughts

I used to think that who you are was determined
by what you thought
And if that's true, then what do my thoughts say about me?
Does it say that i'm vile and selfish and unworthy?
I think it's safe to say that my thoughts aren't who i need to be
But I never act upon them
So what does that say about who I am?
Some say that it's actions who define our character
But what if one has actions that are good
And thoughts that are opposite of those actions, wicked thoughts
Like me
Are they genuinely bad? good? who are they?
Who am I?

Maybe love is not what we give or what we are given. The bliss of life is truly what we are and that when understood and shared becomes the joy of love. There is no good bad but positive and negative. Earth is a classroom and everything is a lesson. Rock On Juli I enjoyed your work

I agree with my friend Vicky, listen to her she has great wisdom. As humans we are all subject to evil thoughts. The fact that you would do good also means you had to think the good thing before you did it. I think you have asked the question that deep down plagues all of us. Very sensitive and honest portrayal of your thoughts. Well done and appreciated.

Poignant write Juli-Michelle! Thoughts and actions rarely go hand in hand. I mean, if we all acted on what we thought at any given moment then the world would descend into chaos. But the mind has the power to replace negative thoughts with positive ones and that's the sum total of an individual. Nicely done this!
