Thoughts

The ocean waves hit the shore line
A mighty oak sways in the breeze
The winds power is undeniable
Just like the thoughts, that overwhelm me

They pull me out sea
Then they slam me hard into the shore
At times they are calm
But it’s always calm before the storm

Sometimes I feel like a leaf in the wind
Tossed about from side to side
Just like the thoughts within me
It’s like a whirlwind spinning in my mind

When the oceans calm and the winds subside
The sun seems to shine a little brighter on my day
I desperately try to enjoy the moment
Anticipating a storm brewing out in the bay
