Those Words

THOSE WORDS

Those words I spoke to you were true
This day of confusion we shall not rue.
In shyness you drove away your eyes from mine
As I spoke with guilt of mine not thine.
Those words captured nights we drove aloft
With dead people around me and around your cot.
I held your heart in my cup of words
And I demanded your judgment to be passed with swords.
Not even this sonnet can this day capture
I spoke the gospel truth, damning even rapture.
With my arrow of sorrow against your heart
I still learnt there be something you hide
Though I condemn my disappointing act
Your hide is still driving my wheel as a tide.
