Those Things I Should Have Said

I think about those things I should have said
instead of doing those things I did
I shouldn't have told you that I loved you so much
because all it gave me was Lucifer's touch
I hear them so much now that they pray for me to stop
i should have given up back then before the tears could drop
I should have told you that I would never be with you
because that would have been the truth
I should have said that there was nothing I could do
I should have stolen back my youth
I should have never cried on my shoulders
when yours were always dry
I should have said that I didn't love you
Only if I could tell that lie
If I had said that I hated you
would the stars have fallen from the sky
maybe if the stars had fallen
maybe I wouldn't be ready to die
