Those Poor Yankees
Those Poor Yankees
By Elton Camp
Those who live in the land of ice and snow
Must think that this winter will never go
After only a few days of spring
Comes more of the winter thing
Spring should be here, but not quite
There comes another coating of white
Snow piled up on their deck
Black ice to bring the wreck
Our tornadoes they may deride
But the South’s the place to reside
I surely cannot understand
Staying in old Yankee land
In the South, feet can be bare
Wear overalls and none care
Where it’s “Y’all” you must say
And “Youse guys” sure belay
