Those Majestic Hills

My heart lies amongst those majestic hills Where the sun stretches to warm the holler When spring comes, sending down rippling rills My heart lies amongst those majestic hills. Life’s plain, there are not many fads and frills Beauty in natural adventuring making thrills The reds and yellows of autumn, the “color,” My heart lies amongst those majestic hills Where the sun stretches to warm the holler. Life’s plain, there are not many fads and frills Beauty in natural adventuring making thrills My heart lies amongst those majestic hills Where the sun stretches to warm the holler The red and yellows of autumn, the “color,” But some folks only see poverty’s squalor.

This is a wonderful poem; I liked the "cadence" of it. Then I noted that you invented this one. I like it even more now because of that.

I'm glad you enjoyed it so much, Caren. Yes, a long time ago I tried to come up with a way to combine the triolet and the sonnet. This is an example of the form, which I call a "Trionet" It's listed under New Poetry Forms on Poetry Soup. Emile uses it occasionally. You should give it a try! I'd be so honored.
