Notes About The Poem

Thorn Rose and Hair Apparent - a Collaboration

A Limerick response to Gershon’s “Hair Apparent“ * * * Hair Apparent The loveliest girl in the world's named Rose From aquiline nose down to graceful toes -- Yet poor Rose can't get a date Is she abandoned by fate? -- Those giant bald spots she should not expose. Written by: Gershon ******************* Thorn Rose Why does it matter that Rose has bald spots Much better assets has the fair Rose got Look at her figure Why do you titter Rose cannot help having thorns on her bot. Thorns, thorns, Rose has prickly thorns in the bot There’s nothing like them for pricking those spots Come hither fellows Down to the meadows She’ll rid those pimples forever, no cost. Written by: Belle Bellevue *********************** Rose's thorns scare admirers away There's not much a poor flower can say Her skin is so prickly It makes suitors sickly So she shows them her petals ~ Come play! Written by: Gershon ******************* When Rose puts her soft petals on display Admirers come by every single day To caress her fine curves Boy, have they got a nerve One shot from her thorn bot, they're in decay. Written by: Belle Bellevue *********************** What a shame that Rose has thorns on her bot A girl has to try and show whats shes' got But thorns and bald spots drown passion Maybe her curves and tasteful fashion Will lure fellows, drawn by her pretty petaly spots. This is positively delightful, methinks. You've helped put Rose's name on the marquee! Bravo and thanks, Gershon
