Thomas the Pottamus

Thomas the pottamus took to the sea
He couldn’t fit on the boat
He was as big as he could be
He swam and he swam like a pottamus can
Then he came back to the shore
And he sat in the sand

Thomas the pottamus asked two little bees
Which way was the way to pond number three
But when he got there the pond was a puddle
And he sank in the mud right up to his middle

Big Thomas the pottamus
He looked like a lot of us
With a very big belly, bigger than some
We look like we came from where the pottamus come
He had cute little ears and a small curly tail
But he didn’t go to the post office to get pottamus mail
When he talked under water I couldn’t hear what he said
He has a big piggy body and a very large head

He sped under water
And he sped on the land
A fast little pottamus
As fast as he can

His mom was so big she looked like a tank
A hundred times bigger a monster that sank
But she took good care of Thomas
He was safe by her side
One day she even gave Thomas a ride
When she flashed her big teeth the enemy’s ran
To the woods and underground as fast as they can

Don’t be squashed by a pottamus
No never the thought
It’s the worst thing that could happen
Don’t ever get caught

When walking a pottamus
On a leash or a chain
Make sure he can see you
Or you may be in for some pain
He will take off and run
Not having a care
You will drag along bouncing
Until you are way over there
