I was surprised just now to learn this artist has already died. He was only 54! such a loss.

Thomas Kinkade: Painter of Light

Not loved by the critics, artist Kinkade adds a special glow to his pastoral art. A number of plates graced with his cozy scenes adorn my home. Kinkade understands a woman's heart. Written Dec. 7, 2015 For the Famous Painter Poetry Contest of Nayda Ivette Negron

Andrea: Our family owns a number of his painting and more even more are indeed painted on my wife's heart. This lovely work says a great deal more than "words" about a truly "great" artist. Thanks for sharing that insight. oldbuck

Oh, do you really own Kinkade? You may remember I wanted him to design my house in that 'where would you live contest. When I first saw his paintings in a gallery in Branson, I wanted so to get small and live in them. I love this! CayCay

Loved this Andrea, its just like poetry, the critics may not like some, but if the readers do thats all that counts! A lesson for some I guess! :) Hugs!

I now know what you mean by the special glow...I just had to go see his paintings...beautiful. He's got a style of his own in which colours play an important part. When he gets to read your poem he will surely gift you with another of his paintings:) // paul

Hey now that's enough..' I happen to admire Thomas Kinkade's work a lot, and I think you have maligned the men of this world by just airing such aspersions and calumny Andrea..' L O L))) I think his work is so full of care to detail, and the light..' You know how I love light..' well maybe not.? but that's beside the painting.' so to write' here's wishing you well in the contest signed Philistine; Joe..'

Andrea!! He was my first thought when I was considering writing for this contest. My sister loves his paintings and I think he deserves more credit for his work than he's received. His paintings somehow remind me of Currier and Ives.

He lived not far from here in Ca. I love his work, it is so idealistic, and what is wrong with that...lol. Great ppiece. BG
