This Time
This time, I must let you go,
Wave goodbye, and let the tears flow.
This time, I don't care anymore,
The pain, the heartache, the love that's lost its score.
Oh, I tried, over and over again,
To make it work, to keep you, to love you, to remain.
I did what I thought was best,
To keep you close, to hold on to the rest.
But my hands are tired, my heart is worn,
The weight of love, the burden I've born.
I've lived in fear, of losing you,
Of being alone, of heartbreak, and pain anew.
But this time, I've realized,
That I deserve better, I deserve to be prized.
I kneeled, I prayed, for you, for us,
But I've come to see, that it's not meant to be, it's not meant for us.
If it was meant to be, it would be,
But the universe, has other plans for me.
This time, I've made up my mind,
To let go, to move on, to leave the heartache behind.
I'm a good person, worthy of love,
Deserving of respect, of kindness from above.
I deserve to be heard, to be seen,
To be loved genuinely, without the pain, the tears, the screams.
This time, my needs come first,
I'll prioritize my heart, my soul, my worth.
I'll take the time, to heal, to mend,
To learn to love myself, to be my best friend.
This time, I won't stress, I won't cry,
I'll rise above, I'll learn to fly.
I'll find my strength, my voice, my way,
And I'll walk away, from the heartbreak, the pain.
