Listen to poem:

This Steady, Slow Drizzle

Our little stream flows
but a trickle most days
but rises, runs, today --
all busy energy.
Its perky
change of pace
does not match
my current cast of face.
Still, this steady
slow drizzle
has its damp uses --
laving dusty leaves
to clean and shiny green.
I am not thankful
for gray skies --
they bring no joy
as bright sunshine might...
only sober, quiet periods
for reflection
unaffected by the colors
of cheerier weather.

Enjoyed reading this one..Yes, it seems that the rain, fog, cold and chill slows us down to a pace less hectic..I enjoy the cloudy rainy foggy weather sometimes..Thanks for stopping by..Sara

ooo; i'm there with you. I could actually see myself in that kind of day and state of mind. I've been there -- living in a cold climate. Nice poem!
