ABC Delicious, Effortless, Fun, Good, Hearty IJKL Minestrone Soup ...

Surfing the web is an imperfect science Putting the screws to each steadfast alliance And while it is far from flawless, too This "Poetry Soup" is a hot, tasty stew Slow-cooked, spicy, and savory-laced It's rife with flavors, (just add to taste) Seasoned with wit and a whimsy, wry The finest that poetic license can buy All discerning palates will find a repast With poetic relish from each wond'rous caste Prime prose to chew on, served up and plated To make sure your hunger is properly sated Be it sugary, sour or tart piquant zest With ripe wordy fare we're cooking our best We've lyrics and ballads and sonnets galore Grand banquets of verse from table-to-floor A bit of the bitter, our melancholy blurts Yet sweeter-than-sweet are our just desserts So give us a taste, I think you'll agree That this "Poetry Soup" is a bowl of esprit And should we e'er suffer for poetic cream Don't fret, there's no limit to what we can dream! ~ 4th Place ~ in the "A-Muse-Sing" Poetry Contest, Richard Lamoureux, Judge & Sponsor.

Greg, What’s the difference between a lawyer and a catfish? / One’s a scum-sucking bottom dweller, the other’s a fish! I raise a toast to my fellow catfish! Nice to have another opportunity to read your lighthearted verse - still a fave! Happy Easter to you, my friend.

LOL - you made me chuckle today, Buddy, and that takes some doing ... well-said! I'm more than happy to share the bottom of anything with such class, (that didn't sound too good ... well, depends on the bottom, I guess, lol) - blessings, my friend, and a Happy Easter to you and yours! :o)

"sugary, sour or tart piquant zest" is my favorite line of many great ones, Greg. Your usual flair for catchy phrases is out in full force, as is your jaunty rhythm and clever rhyme. Wonderful summary of the diversity offered by the Soup, going in my faves ~ John

Ha - thank you so much for the fave, John - I actually struggle a bit when it comes to the "lighter" writes, but I think it's a GOOD thing to get out of our comfort zones - that's really the only time we grow as writers. So pleased you enjoyed it, Buddy! :o)

A mouth-watering detour from your usually serious writes, Greg:-) I love this fun--and tasty!--offering from you. Best of luck in Richard's contest!

Hey Greg, pour me a big bowl of this tangy dish. We used to call it refrigerator stew...all the stuff we loved in one pot. Nice take on the soup.

Thank you so much, John - we always had "leftover" stew as well, and it was some of my favorite stuff! Blessings and thanks, my friend! :o)
