This Secret Thing

Listen to poem:
This secret thing
grew in your breast --
a dark lump of terror
which you revealed to no one;
it ate through you,
until it became, finally,
too terrible to hide.
Now, even the cold scalpel,
which leaves less than it takes
of what you were once,
cannot excise the horror.

WOW Leo, another of your powerful teleportations, this time not only across space but also, for me, across gender. Thank you.

I LOVE this poem. brilliantly written. I would like to give the last four lines particular kudos. I like that you say "the person becomes the disease." & the fact that the terror never leaves, no matter the abscence.
