This Season's Gift

My pockets, bare, this yuletide season
Though riches, they are in my heart
As family and friends will gather about
With a love for us all to therefore impart
No gift could one give, that’s greater than
The one that had never known a store
As the wrapping on the gift, is one of love
Reflecting the gift itself, one so pure
For when all other gifts then so break
Or then need some time to therefore mend
It’s love, the gift that stays the season
And is the gift that all should send

Love is definetly the ultimate gift. First the poem works very well and reads very well. This economy is terrible and love will the gift that is most purchase this season.

Love is definitely the most important part of the holiday season. Since my family has had financial difficulties for a number of years, we've come to treasure our time together even more and to revel in the warm feelings of the holiday itself rather than focusing on material gifts. Your poem certainly hits a chord with me and is just beautiful!
