This Place
This place, this place we visit for a time
The beauty we share and marvels witnessed here
Are there other places like this somewhere?
Or are we alone and uniquely fortunate in our own place
Can this universe be so vast there are many like us?
Hidden beyond those stars which glimmer in our heavens
But how could anything be beyond this, this life we’ve known
Where else could one venture to find wonders such as these?
Given to us by what life is itself, our own without bonds
To guide our own destiny and be what we are to be
We wander through here touching and being touched
Hopefully to leave to the other side of here
In the peace that only a smile can give
And good memories to those we leave behind.
