This Picture of Our Life

Trees bristled but the breeze was warm
Sun hazed over, perfect summer charm

We reminisced, saw back beyond the day
So many summers loved each in their way

Barn owl glided over the fields
Silence of beauty, this masterpiece lives

Capture the memory of the surrounding evening glow
Hear the chorus of nature, birdsong as we go

Touch hands instinctively become a hold
Feel the years of our seasons unfold in each step of this evening stroll

Connect to shared memories that are ours alone
Laughter in darkness, kiss in the cold.

The hilled and wooded horizon set distant but still here with us now
Not another soul to be seen as we look all around

The soft sun glows and highlights the beauty of your smile
Your eyes dance in the soft light remembering good times that we've had

This landscape of serenity, this picture of our life
I'll never let go of this memory shared with love for you my wife.
