This Painting Is Worth How Much

This Painting is Worth How Much!

By Elton Camp

It’s called “1957-J no.2” and done by Clyfford Still
Art experts say that, if sold, thirty million’s the bill

If, like me, the career of this great artist you missed
He’s a famed post-World War abstract expressionist

“Famed” is how he’s described by those in the know
But I am forced to admit I never heard of him though

But it seems to me that if the painting’s that great
Then a much more sensible name it should rate

As an art critic I admit that I am sure not qualified
But I couldn’t believe it when the picture I spied

For it seems to me that the artist was in a rush
And just found a good place to clean his brush

Very nicely written :) I love the rhyme scheme and the funny twist ending. ------Ell

Thanks for reading. This is the painting that a woman recently damaged while it was hanging in a museum. Elton
