This One Is For You

He walked with the moon night behind his back
A yellow light in front of him lit his path

Marriage should be sacred
Only one per a lifetime
That's what I had been told
That's what I tried to hold

But damn if he didn't look straight at her eyes
Said
and these were his words not mine
"You married the wrong man,
I'm here to make things right"

Right,
she'd leave her husband for him.
What was he thinking?

She walked away 
but her step was slow
and I caught a glint in her eyes.

Right about now I'm feeling like I'm from Texas
or Arizona and if not that then make it Memphis
Lit one up and put on a hat
just to look the part

Pulled my cab to her door
like he had asked me to
I waited for her to come out
like he had asked me to

Well if this were a movie
you know she would have stepped out 
two bags in her hand
but this is no movie, this story is real



.......................she only had one bag.
