This Man Named Bobby

It was shortly after midnight and the start of a new day
A ballroom filled with supporters shouting only one name Bobby, Bobby!
Slowly he made his way to the podium with his wife Ethel by his side,
He smiled at the group and he says as he pushes back a lock of his hair
“It’s on to Chicago and let’s win there!”
And win he did indeed and the country that November a new president
The man named Bobby
The dreams and hopes of another young man named Kennedy came to our memory
As this young man gracefully accepted the decision and became the leader of our country
This young man would take the ripples of hope and the dreams of so many
The man who dared to dream things that never were
This man named Robert F. Kennedy
