This Love of Ours
Our love is like a fine work of art
I find joy with you in all we do.
For the rest of my life, I know
all I'll want is to be next to you.

is a line from the pen of a poet.
It's not from a sad tale of woes
for when love is real, you know it.
I hang on to each word you say
of love. I pray we'll both hold fast.
Come and lie down next to me
for a time so we can make it last.
I don't need time to wait on fate
or to help me be sure of how I feel.
Take my hand and walk with me.
Oh, my love, what we have is real.
Let's talk of us from now on as 'we.'
I want to kiss your lips, open and soft,
hear you sigh when you look in my eyes.
I ache to be with you so very oft.
I'd be rich, tho now I am but poor,
to gaze upon your face each morn.
I'll not ever wish for more than that
for the love we bear has been born.
Time has no way to hold us back.
I know deep down in what is my soul
that we have a one-of-a-kind love
that both of us vow will ne'er grow old.
