This Love

For Marty. I wrote this a while back. (11/29/09). I'm posting it here as I think about how to ask you What I did to ruin it all.... You Cause: My heart to pound and my head to spin The feeling that I will always win, My stomach to flutter and my fingers to shake, The happiness that I refuse to break, My breath to freeze and my mouth to dry, The knowledge that I can never lie. My heart to ache and my head to hurt, The worry over the perfect shirt, My stomach to lurch and my fingers to clench, The loneliness of sitting on that bench, My breath to stop and my mouth to close, The sadness of seeing a single rose. My tears to fall and my hopes to rise, The wait for the day when this love dies.
