This Journey

You and I what a team we made
the challenges we'd overcome.

Such confidence I had in us
sailing the sea of life.

Alone I'm left to navigate
this ocean filled with doubt.

Not sure in my abilities
this lack of your security.

Each day a battle to move along
near mortal wounds to heal.

No choice would seem is left to me
this life on balance a mystery.

A sad poem and now i read your reply below. I'm so sorry for the recent loss of your wife and hope your grief filled days soon become brighter. Check out my poem Weathering Grief. Hugs being sent your way.

Thank you for commenting. I don't regard myself a poet. I recently lost my precious Wife to cancer. I put some of my feelings down on paper to deal with the tremendous grief I feel over losing her. We were together over 34 years. I see you are rather prolific in writing poetry. Had you lost a spouse as well?
