This Is the Day the Lord Gave
Dawn of another day,
I bow down my head, say this prayer…
“Dear Father, thank you for yester night
But more so, this day
That I know not, what comes with it…
I don’t want to live just to see the dusk
But to marvel at the birds’ chirping
To stare in awe at the colourful array of our nature
To bathe gladly in the clear blue sky
And even more so, if it gives way to rain
To gaze amazedly as the animals run their errands
To be enticed by the hills’ gallant poses
And wondrously sway to the rivers’ elegant meanderings
Want to make circular turns with my hands widely spread
As I elatedly take in the air You freely give
Let awareness fill my senses-
That all these ‘life’ isn’t just chance;
A reason exists for them to
That my life not just mere;
You have a purpose for
That this day is a day to rejoice and be glad in
Despite what it may bring along
This is the day the Lord gave”.
