This Is the Day the Lord Gave
This is the day the lord gave
I look out the window and I can see the birds and the tree's
I can see the sunshine and children, playing in the park,
this is the day the lord gave,
Reading the bible, proverb's, I can see the words
seek knowledge and not money,
Knowledge leads to wisdom, wisdom leads to careers,
this is the day the lord gave,
Education leads to jobs, further education, leads to better wages
this is the day the lord gave,
I've made mistakes, I've been throught divorce,
felt the pain from my mistakes,
Mistake's created by myself, can't be blamed on the lord,
people have wars, fight over religions, different theory's, different faiths,
yet these are the acts of man, and can't be blamed on the lord,
love thy neighbour as thy self, the road to peace,
This is the day the lord gave,
apple trees, lemons and lime,
this the day the lord gave,
every day we wake up, we have a choice,
we can go out and play in the garden,
we can toss the ball to the dog,
or we can sit and blame the world, for our pain,
one mans problems, can lead, to the end of his life,
but another, can sit down, and read a good book,
relax and enjoy a fine meal,
decide that yes it hurts but life goes on,
This is the day the lord gave.
We can blame God, for our child dying,
car accidents kill but God was not the driver,
we can blame God for our childs death, cancer kills,
but who made cancer, was it God or the Devil,
No I not, for I am not God,
hate him not, for he is not death,
take a look at the beauty that surrounds you,
this is the day the lord gave.
I've heard them say that religion causes wars,
and yet science, Darwin, evolution, created the theory
only the strong should survive, the theory behind, the Nazi beleifs,
Science created, the second world war,
violence, pain, theft, adultary,
all create suffering and pain,
God was against every thing, that created pain,
this is the day the lord gave.
