Rene Harris Poet Free verse

This Is That

started out today with you in mind
 wanted to see if this was the time
 pressin from where we were before
 this is that and more
 coming to meet you from here, a place I've never been before
 this is that which I have planned in myself and counting the words to speak
 now that we are here, what do you see in this meeting between you and me
 with yesterday bein what it was, there before today leading the way 
 this is that in the intent of our minds with hearts beating faster as time goes on
 i couldn't wait to see you in front of me with open arms, so i'm thinkin will be
 that is a great expectation to change as it will without warning, yet, still
 this is that a time never seen before, with great expectation of wanting this time
 to go on and on with no end in sight
 this is that, lookin forward to this day ending with you still here, till night
