This Is Me

This is me! 23 August 1994 A new life stepped into the door With no reason to mourn; the family was in tears as I became This is me.. Never was I told to leave up to your expectations or even be the right address to your location or even be what you might happen to think of me that is not me... But this! This is me.. I cry tears that fall on the same ground that you walk on and step on...You neglect me but still I remain me. To you not satisfactory but to my parents I make them happy providing hope that perhaps the songs I sing; songs I compose and and with the poems I write the future might actually be promising. This is me... Calm like a dry duck floating on water; going underneath and coming out dry as the sun burns me... You may dry the water off my feathers but I will still remain me. Mainly Yolanda Ntomb'zolile Nyembezi. THAT IS ME!!!

This poem needs to be revised a little. There are some typos but the message within the poem seems quite clear.
